Children, children please!!! Get over your ‘purist’ attitudes. ALL these things matter and both FF and IE have good things and bad. Both have issues with standards, css, all of it, not to mention HTML 5. And Chrome, though very cool, is in many ways, Google specific. Some Google stuff won’t even run unless you’re using Chrome.

I’m a Web software engineer and I use all these browsers all the time and I go out of my way to make sure all my apps are cross browser compatible. Yes, it’s more work for me but in the software world if a user has a problem with one of my apps it not his/her fault, it’s my fault for not recognizing their faults.

By in large this whole argument is; ‘Ford, Chevy, Dodge’.

FF 3.5 is way slower than the previous versions, in both starting and scrolling.

Firefox is tooooo slow. When i launch firefox too often i recieve message "FF has crashed previously, do you want to restore tabs". And the updates are just crazy. If i want to open something real quick, i can't because too often i recieve - FF is downloading your updates. It sucks as a browser. I don't use it in flavor of Chrome.

I think this writing was trolling. Nobody can seriously say things like that... I'm off to make my own browser with nonstandard features and then complain nobody uses them!

I am just flabbergasted at your reasoning. "Who needs standards?? We like our fancy ActiveX and ActiveScript, you're being *manipulated* by the W3C!!!"

IE only has a majority share because of the huge number of computer illiterate people out there who just use their packaged browser instead of exploring alternatives. It is a FAR inferior browser to firefox - less secure, doesn't comply with AGREED, ESTABLISHED STANDARDS (imagine if Microsoft decided to wander off and make huge changes to TCP? You wouldn't be so anti-standards then) and as Nico pointed out, Firefox had a plethora of great features for YEARS that didn't appear in IE until recently.

Your argument and reasoning suggests you are an individual with very little experience or exposure in the real IT world, or are simply trying to stir up debate. Either way, it's obvious today just how superior Firefox is (and always has been) to IE.

So you think Firefox is good because of the standards and security ?

What about innovation and features ?
Where was IE when Firefox had :
- live bookmarks
- tabs
- block popups
- addons
- download manager
...

Firefox did all this first (or almost first with NS7 and Opera).
