These SVG features can be safely implemented across browsers (more than 90%):

  1. Inline SVG in HTML5 - Method of using SVG tags directly in HTML documents. Requires HTML5 parser.
  2. Method of displaying basic Vector Graphics features using the embed or object elements. Refers to the SVG 1.1 spec.
  3. SVG in CSS backgrounds - Method of using SVG images as CSS backgrounds
  4. SVG in HTML img element - Method of displaying SVG images in HTML using <img>.

These SVG features are only supported by 70% - 90% of clients / browsers, and can be used for trivial enhancements:

  1. SVG filters - Method of using photoshop-like effects on SVG objects including blurring and color manipulation.
